As a direct access immigration barrister working closely with the Highly Skilled Migrant Group I have ben approached by many in the press. I am happy to comment and be interviewed as to spread the message of the hostile approach to migrants.
Today’s interview concerned an interview about the circumstances of Mr Nirav Modi, who is reported to be in the UK and in particular London. There are many rumours flying around about him claiming asylum. I was asked what I knew of the case and whether or not he had an asylum claim.
Its an interesting question, if he has done anything wrong and the government are behind it then he arguably might have a claim, if he has done something wrong and I do not whether he has, but there is no political slant then he will not have a claim in my view, though he may well have a claim based upon the prison conditions in India.
It was an interesting interview and one that highlights that more and more people are turning to the immigration barrister for comment on a wide range of topics.
I have been practising Immigration since 1999 and have worked both sides, though since 2002 it has been mainly from the Migrant’s side as I believe passionately in free movement and the freedom to set up home and contribute to UK society. It is through Migrants that the UK has become the most multicultural society I know.
If you have any enquiries regarding immigration from the press to the Migrant please do not hesitate to get in touch with me and my team who’ll book you into see me or have a telephone conference as soon as possible. Our goal is that I will speak to whoever books an appointment on a first come first served basis. Another area where I have seen growth is through telephone conference.
I look forward to speaking to you soon.
