As I prepare for the first case of the new year, in Stoke on Trent, as a direct access immigration barrister who is also head of my own small boutique set I cannot help but mention or rather expand the new changes due to occur. I see a gap in the market for the provision of high class immigration service. I see the gap in the market for a dedicated immigration chambers. There are a number of sets with excellent immigration teams, think Goldsmith Chambers, Garden Court, Doughty Street, 1 Pump Court among others. But none of these tailor solely for immigration clients.
I see a need for a small boutique set which caters only for immigration. Where languages spoken include, Urdu, Hindi, Gujurati, Tamil, Spanish, the whole range of Nigerian and Ghanian dialects, Mandarin and Cantonese, Russian, Tagalog and Magyar to name but a few. Currently we can provide services in Urdu, Gujarati, Hindi, some Nigerian dialects and Italian, but for me its not enough.
Looking at the needs of clients and the worsening situation faced by migrants there is a need for a set that fights passionately for the oppressed in this area. Imperium will be that set. Watch closely as the first step will be the clerk and then a limited expansion overseen by me, such an expansion will maintain the highest quality and offer the widest immigration service possible.
2016 will also see the start of Imperium working in the extradition field. I have previously worked on a number of cases from the Magistrates’ Court to the Court of Appeal and have been often asked for further help and now I think is the time to provide that help.
2016 will be the year of Imperium. There is a need. Its not being met. It needs to be met and we are ideally placed to help those who are the most vulnerable.
If you or a family member have any questions or want to arrange a consultation, please feel free, as I have said earlier in my blogs January 2016 is an expensive month and any cases that get under way in January 2016 will benefit from a significant discount.
